Ethnic Channels Group Limited authorizes indefinite free viewing of Ukrainian channels

World's largest ethnic broadcaster makes available Pershiy Natsionalniy and 5 Kanal to all Canadian BDUs

TORONTO - Ethnic Channels Group Limited (ECGL), a Toronto-based broadcaster that distributes international channels directly to viewers via satellite, cable, and IPTV, announced today that, effective immediately Pershiy Natsionalniy (First National) and 5 Kanal (Channel 5) will be available to existing partners, including all Canadian BDUs, free of charge. Pershiy Natsionalniy (First National) and 5 Kanal (Channel 5) are currently available on Bell Fibe, Telus, Comwave, and VMedia.ECGL highly encourages all Canadian BDUs that have not yet launched a Ukrainian language service to do so urgently.

"People want to be connected to their homeland, and during times of crisis there is nothing more crucial than getting the real story directly from the source," says Slava Levin, CEO. "Viewers must have access to real-time news reports directly from the source. It should be noted that several major Ukrainian media groups have partnered to show 'United News,' a unified news source. Pershiy Natsionalniy (First National) is one of the United News feeds. Other United News channels are Inter, 1+1, Ukraine 24, UA TV and several others.

Pershiy Natsionalniy (First National) and 5 Kanal (Channel 5) is available free of charge to all Canadian BDUs, IPTV, and OTT partners, thereby making it possible for these distributors to make these channels available free to their viewers.
